Beginning Knitting

Learn casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and binding off while making a potholder or scarf. Your choice of "picking" or "throwing" method of knitting. This class is for you if you've never held needles before, or you want to get back into knitting.

Beginning and Not So Beginning Crochet

If you've always wanted to learn to crochet OR you want to relearn crochet that you've forgotten OR you want to learn more advanced stitches, this is the class for you.

Stuck with a project? Let us help you with the details, directions, finishing, inspiration... perhaps you'd like help choosing a new project. Bring a friend, enjoy a cup of tea and finish some projects.

Afghan Square of the Month

Knit a new afghan square pattern each month. You need to know how to knit and purl, but anything else can be learned in class. Each pattern will be unique but not difficult; we will have a sample of our new pattern at each class.
2nd Wed of every month 1:00 - 2:00. $15/month or 6 for $60.

Sweaters

Make a sweater of your choice that fits the way you want it to. Some suggestions for the pattern: from the Knit Swirl book, or a simple top-down pullover or cardigan. We'll get you on the right track and keep you there and you will gain experience in pattern reading. The class will meet every Saturday.
Don't worry if you have to miss a class: you can pay for a class as you take it, $15 each; or 6 for $60.

Square Snowflake Ornament

A great introduction to 2-color Knitting, also called stranded colorwork, Scandinavian or Fair Isle knitting. This ornament is both unique and small enough for you to make several.

You can try 3 different methods for holding the two colors to see which suits you. Learn to work from a chart. The pattern will be provided in class.

Seasons Hat

A great project to work on Fair Isle patterning. You will learn 2 cast-on methods — German Twisted and Tubular. We will also cover putting colors together, working from charts and Fair Isle gauge. The hat is made from up to 5 colors of fingering yarn.
Sundays 1-3pm September 14th and 21st $40

3 Different Fingerless Glove Classes

Each class emphasizes different techniques. Each one will give you practice on circular knitting, using either double-pointed needles, 2 circular needles or magic loop.

Churchmouse Welted Fingerless Glove

Techniques to learn: right and left slanting increases and one-row buttonhole for the thumb.

Fingerless Gloves With Fingers

Techniques to learn: 2 ribbing styles, using waste yarn for live stitches, and double-knit fingers.
Saturdays 2-4pm October 4th and 11th $35

Matilda Mitts

Techniques to learn: working with sock yarn, using waste yarn for thumb, cables and reading charts.
Saturdays 2-4pm October 18th and 25th $35
